Komal is one of the selected women writers in Literoma’s Biography of the Millennium project ‘The Shining Divas of 2020’ showcasing the lives and writing journeys of seven inspiring Indian women writers.
She has been amongst the shortlisted women writers whose poems were selected for publication in an anthology by The Woman Inc on women empowerment as a part of The Woman Inc and Beyond Black Sakhi Annual Poetry Awards 2019.
She has been featured in the Hakara Journal and Half Baked Beans Micro Fiction Anthology in 2019.
Her article ‘Calligraphy in India’ has been published in the eighth issue of the Journal of Asian Arts, Culture and Literature (JAACL) i.e. Vol 2, No 4: DECEMBER 2021, now available on the Alsphere.org website, and contributes articles regularly. She is an active contributor to anthologies by the Asian Literary Society and the Impish Lass Publication House to date.

VOLUNTEER WORK IN CONTENT WRITING
She is a volunteer for TEDxGurugram as a content curator and speaker curator and is committed to the spread of ideas for learning in the community.
She also volunteers for non-profit organizations as a content writer, especially in the mental health industry, like Manah Wellness and the Listening Inn. She believes in the power of the written word to help spread mental health awareness and destigmatize the seeking of help, especially in these unprecedented times of the coronavirus pandemic.
She has been actively involved in writing articles for Corona Champions
https://www.coronachampions.org whose pathbreaking video and stories about corona champions have been featured on the My gov platform and UNDP India social media sites. Her story on Dhaval Parekh was featured on the UNDP India Facebook Page and Instagram page in 2020. The response to the stories written by her have been exceptional and have contributed to raising awareness about the coronavirus and how to minimise exposure and stay healthy.
EXHIBITIONS
Her Slide Show “The Power of Words” was showcased in Cubbon Park Metro Station under the Wait Time Project by Art in Transit Bangalore in April 2019, an experiment on public interaction with art and literature, and was very well received.
Her Digital art was exhibited at the International Roerich Memorial Trust, Manali in 2019.
Her poetry was showcased in TEDxWomen Bold and Brilliant 2019 in December 2019.
ORGANIZATIONS
1) State President of the Haryana Arts Leadership Council formed under the aegis of the WICCI Arts Leadership Council since December 2021.
The mission is women empowerment and artisan empowerment. Focus on the promotion of the Arts and culture of the state and across other state councils in India.
New initiatives initiated by Komal Gupta include an Arts Newsletter, the launch of WICCI Talks and The Overleaf Book Club and WeNext Tech Club for women empowerment and sustainable development of women-led ventures and start-ups.
The agenda for the promotion of arts and culture in Haryana and consequently across India is as follows:-
1) Focus on women-led artistic ventures, at the rural level or City level.
2) Focus on the arts and culture as a means to mental health and well-being.
Workshops, exhibitions, installations, virtual sessions, performances. This is needed as the pandemic has affected society in myriad ways.
3) Focus on the literature of the state. The stories of the past, present, and future, are shown virtually or interactively.
4) Involvement of the youth in these ventures. Maybe at a later stage, tie up with colleges, and schools to promote state literature, arts, and culture.
5) Interactive programs, virtual or hybrid promoting arts, and the culture of the state.
6) Workshops in collaboration with women-led businesses. This will lead to better visibility for their businesses as well as to the cause of promotion of arts, and culture in the state.
7) Theatre is a popular way of promoting arts and culture. Plays and street theatre can be optimized for outreach.
There will be more emphasis on the technology part due to the restrictions of the pandemic for now and will open up avenues later on for more public interactions.
Haryana has a rich, vibrant art and cultural history. These are just some of the ways we can promote and many more can come up via meetings and deliberations.
